| Metrologist - Gage Technician Gage Technician / Metrologist, Hartford, CT Area Must plan and execute the gaging and calibration needs of the company to support the manufacturing plan. Evaluate and make recommendations for future gaging needs and working with management evaluate and make recommendations concerning resource requirements in support of the overall production plan. Responsible for procedural compliance to all calibration requirements as defined by policies and procedures, as well as those defined by customer and any American and International standards. FUNCTIONS Assures compliance with all customer order requirements as they pertain to the Metrology Department including developing gaging plans as required. Efficiently and accurately provide gages to the manufacturing floor as requested by procedure and policy Responsible for improving / maintaining measurement methods and assure product quality. Assures that Calibration and gage setting personnel are familiar with and comply with procedures and policies including but not limited to calibration, software, FOD and gage accuracy requirements Provides feedback to the Quality Manager to assure compliance. Working with the Manufacturing designated Process Certification / Continuous Improvement Engineer, perform and or assist in gage R&R studies and assist in the training of personnel in the proper usage of all gages. Review set gages for accuracy and reproducibility prior to releasing them to the respective areas, either quality or manufacturing. 5 years minimum experience Blueprints and interpretation skills including GD&T. Strong knowledge of calibrations and quality systems Local candidates only | |
